Digital Touch Interactive
I developed a digital touch interactive for the American Museum of Natural History’s touring exhibit called "Mythic Creatures: Dragons, Unicorns & Mermaids". The piece is built in Unity and Adobe Suite, and explores how sailors in the past would report sightings of sea serpents, but may instead have seen whales or dolphins.
Visitors to the museum can touch and drag the screen to reveal underneath the ocean and mysterious moving humps a pod of whales or dolphins swimming by.
This piece will be installed at Drexel University from February 16–June 9, 2019.
Role: Interactive developer, visual designer, illustrator, and animator.
Tools: Unity Editor, Visual Studio and C#, After Effects, Illustrator, and Photoshop.
How It Works
I created this piece as an independent project during my internship at the museum. From end to end, I created the original art work of the whales and dolphins in Illustrator, animated the swimming action of both in After Effects, and programmed in C# the touch and drag interaction which reveals museum text and triggers a switch between dolphins and whales.
